The 8th CME of the year 2019 was conducted by KQHDA at RV Teacher’s colllege on 4th August 2019 at 3pm. The speaker for the CME was Dr Viswanath MD, Consultant Physician and Diabetologist wellness expert.
The topic discussed was “Medical Myths and Lies in conventional health guidelines”.
Dr Deepa Raje welcomed all the attendees and requested Dr Subha to speak a few words about Dr Viswanath. Dr Subha gave an introduction about Dr Viswanath to all the attendees.Dr Viswanath completed MBBS,MD from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.He is a specialist in treating life style diseases and medical condition from the root cause with a holistic approach to wellness.Dr Viswanath is the author of “Decoding Diabetes”.
Key points of the CME: Dr Viswanath shared the Myths
▪ Avoid salt intake: Normal people required 8gm salt daily. If the person reduces the intake of salt it will ultimately results in craving for sugar and results in DM .
▪Low Fat Diet: Normal person requires Carbohydrate -not more than 40 percetage , Protein diet -20 percentage,Good fat-25 percentage. More intake of carbohydrate diet leads to obesity.So to reduce weight reduce the carbohydrate diet like Rice,Idly,Rava etc.
▪Saturated fat: People should avoid all man made fats.And use natural fat like Paneer,Ghee, etc..
▪Oils: The best oil for cooking is coconut oil.Olive oil and sesame oil also can be used.And avoid all other vegetable oils.
▪ Carnivorous diet is more healthy.
▪Cholesterol is essential for normal metabolism of body, including the production of hormones like testosterone.Anti cholesterol diet reduces the testosterone level.
Life style diseases can be controlled by healthy diet, proper exercise and good thinking.
Dr Viswanath completed the CME by speaking about Yoga. Pranayama and Meditation will give you a strong mental health and ultimately a good physical health.
Finally Dr B D Patel, Patron of KQHDA, a renowned homoeopath, ex Principal of 3 Homoeopathic Colleges, gave us a short speech on practice of Yoga.And he appreciated Dr Viswanath, hearing the wonderful rendition of the speech.
The CME was concluded by handing over the momento to Dr Viswanath by Dr H L Swamy and Dr Praveen.
