Patient (case) Oriented Approach

The 4th CME of the year 2019, organised by KQHDA was held on 9th July at RV Teachers College, Jayanagar at 3pm.  The session began with the welcome speech by President Dr Chaitali kulkarni Introduction of the speaker Dr Chiranth was given by Dr Manisha joint secretary of KQHDA.
As the participants were intrigued to know about the topic, Dr Chiranth started by explaining that each case is different and demands individual approach by the physician.
He mentioned that there are different schools of Homoeopathy and the practitioner often gets confused to follow which method during practice. Approach can be based on Genetic constitutional simillimum, Mind, Sensation, Constitutional, Miasm, Sehgal, ICAR method, Pathological, keynote, Bach flower, Tissue remedies and Mother tinctures. Prescription can be Single dose, Multiple dose, Polypharmacy, Patent combinations. So basically, simillimum should be the right type of prescription.
The speaker presented a case of psoriasis with eruptions all over the body and had history of allopathic medication. Based on strong Mental symptoms the case was repertorised and Nitric acid 200 OD was given.  Eruptions gradually disappeared and patient’s emotional state also improved. This case demanded single dose and patient improved with that. 
Second case was a girl aged 11 years complained of constant cough hovering day and night. Based on the history constitutional remedy Calcarea carb OD was given. The patient’s cough became better after one dose and gradually cough came down.  Another case of Multiple warts on face and hand, based on the symptom similarity Calc carb 200 OD was given. In the follow up the case demanded repetition of the remedy and the case was cured. 
A case of Lichen nitidus of a child aged 8 years with eruptions on elbows since 3 years. This case required Tuberculinum 200 OD for 3 days and case gradually got cured.  Case of Necrotising fasciitis where the patient was diabetic and had started using a new footwear and was prescribed Phosphorous TID for 3 days.
The patient was advised grafting but showed significant improvement with homoeopathy.
A case of renal calculi (proximal ureteric calculus) with right hydroureteronephrosis and the patient was given Calcarea Renalis 200 TID for 3 days along with Berberis mother tincture TID for 1 week. The calculus reduced gradually in size and patient got cured. Another case of Acute renal emergency where calculi was located in membranous urethra. Based on the characteristic rubric ‘urethra stone in: as of a’ Crocus cacti was given and the stone passed in urine the coming day. 
Another case of Senile gangrene of foot in an old lady aged 80 years where the patient was advised amputation till knee was advised Ars alb 200 OD was given and patient improved gradually. 
A case of diabetic foot where Sulphur 200 TID was prescribed and within 20 days came back completely cured. 
Finally the session concluded by the speaker giving take home message wherein he mentioned that every case demands its own variety of prescription and that the physician should work more building sound knowledge of Materia medica (source books), Organon and Repertory to find the right kind of simillimum.
Following the session Oath taking ceremony of new office bearers was done.Oath was guided by Dr HL Swamy ,chairman of association. On account of Doctor’s day was celebrated by the KQHDA members  with cutting cake in the presence of DR B.D Patel patron of association and chief guest of the programme.and all the doctors who were present at the venue.
